Since you’ll be spending so much time outside experiencing the city, all you really need is a warm, clean bed and bathroom in a safe neighborhood.
As for other parts of the state, Albany and Rochester offer really good New York hotel deals – especially the latter. Depending on where you book your room, you can find Niagara Falls hotels for less than $110.
